GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMP GRANT PROGRAM UPDATE

Update: Due to the tremendous level of interest in our Geothermal Grant Program, a waiting list has been created for all incoming applications. We've successfully allocated all grant dollars for the current grant program. Placement on the waiting list does not assure that future grants will be available. Read on to find out about the benefits of installing a Geothermal Heat Pump system in your home or building and learn why our program has been so successful.

Starting July 1, 2008, the Geothermal Heat Pump Grant Program will begin offering a very limited number of grants for eligible systems at new grant amounts. They are:

• Up to $1,000 per ton of cooling capacity for qualifying systems
• Residential maximum grant of $3,000
• Commercial maximum grant of $10,000

Minimum system efficiencies are increased slightly to consist of:

            Full load EER of 15.5; and full load COP of 3.5 under rating conditions in accordance with the International Standards Organization (ISO) Standard 13256- 1 or the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) Standard 870 for ground-loop heat pumps.
